Experienced Based Career Education Program
From 1982 through 1992 Karol Kulas was involved with the Experienced Based Career Education Program with the New Berlin Public Schools. This program is part of an educational process that affords students the opportunity to be exposed to different careers and work environments through hands-on work experiences with local employers. Experiences are directly aligned to a students anticipated career interests. This involves a mentoring relationship between students and professionals, providing opportunities for students to develop skills, habits and coursework with the world of work. Our firm was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from New Berlin Public Schools.
Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB)
From 1997 through 2003 Karol Kulas served on the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB). The mission of the LAAB is to evaluate, advocate for, and advance the quality of education in landscape architectural programs. The LAAB develops and promulgates the accreditation standards, rules and procedures for conducting the accreditation process. The LAAB is the accrediting organization for landscape architectural programs. As such, the LAAB develops standards to objectively evaluate landscape architectural programs and judges whether a school's landscape architectural program is in compliance with the accreditation standards.
ASLA Dedicated Service Award
In 1992 Karol Kulas received a Recognition Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects. This is for dedicated service from 1986 – 1992 to the Profession of Landscape Architecture and the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Lifetime Achievement Award
In 2008 Karol Kulas received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. This award honors an individual whose career has advanced the profession of landscape architecture in Wisconsin through extraordinary leadership and professional works.
