Description:
The homeowner desired a place of peace, serenity and calm. A respite from the stress of work and a place to decompress after work. The goal was to create this sense of place within a long narrow rear yard area roughly 25 feet wide by 110 feet long. A meandering stream bed and pathways transverse the site with pockets of massed perennial species creating a tranquil atmosphere. Abundant flowers, textures, fall color and winter interest all add resplendent beauty to the year round enjoyment of this garden. The chirping of the birds that are attracted to the site, the subtle breezes through the trees along with the sound of falling water all add to a soothing atmosphere.
